Capturing the mood of a mellow summer’s day, BOSS Menswear heads to the seaside for Spring/Summer 2018 in a collection entitled ‘Summer of Ease’. Silhouettes become looser and are marked by nautical detail
for a lighter look for the new season.

The brand’s strict tailored lines get an even softer take. Tailoring presents subtly oversized shapes, featuring loose-cut jackets and wide-leg pants. Slimmer designs still play a role but get a softer touch thanks to tapered fits.

The double-breasted suit is back, balancing sartorial flair and perfect ease. Softening the look and reducing the weight, unlined constructions ensure the clean designs sit well within its summer environment in both form and function.

A spectrum of suits in garment-dyed cotton takes the sartorial icon into summer territory. These softly constructed suits are dyed once finished, resulting in shades with subtle variations in saturation for a beautifully easy-going finish.

Fabric is key in this easier approach to suiting with lightweight paper-touch cotton, summer linen and modern seersucker textures.

It’s not just the silhouettes and fabrics that lighten the mood, but combinations and color. Slouchy knitwear completes tailoring along with sneakers and sandals, while nautical outerwear adds a sportswear touch. Take a rubberized fisherman’s jacket over a suit, or a longline cotton raincoat with voluminous trousers and a slub-texture jersey sweater. Playing with the notion of nautical outerwear, a standout anorak in rubber-look nappa leather is paired with a shirt and neatly tailored trousers with sporty piping.

Breton stripes and color blocking are explored with a playful edge in nautical blues and yellows, sunset orange and signal red. Inspired by the weather-beaten hues of the coastline, cypress green, mid and cool blues and khaki ground the collection, while brilliant white fades into sun-bleached cream, smoked pearl and flint-stone shades.
